One of my favourite parts of living in this wonderful community is that you are never on your own. There is always help available with caring neighbours and you can get help quickly with the emergency call system 24/7. One of the biggest reasons I chose to live at Waldreas was the option of onsite 24 hr care available when I could no longer live in my independent unit. Now that I have moved across to 24 hr care, I continue to be very happy. I am still in my community and my family don’t have to worry about me.

The thing that struck us the most when we first visited Waldreas was the friendliness. Then when we moved in 6 years ago, we found we could walk out our front door and there’s always someone to say hello to. We could chat with people, or if we weren’t up to it for whatever reason, there was no pressure. People are very respectful around here and we don’t live in each other’s pockets. The location of Waldreas community is just fabulous because we’ve got the bus that can take us to Eastland up the road, we have Wantirna Rd shops, Ringwood Golf Course opposite - everything is at our fingertips. We really love it here!

I find the size of the village just perfect. It’s small enough to get to know a good amount of people and make solid friendships and large enough that we can all meet together and have some big celebrations and get-togethers. Some of us meet up fairly regularly for community events and activities like board game nights, sausage sizzle Wednesdays, movie afternoons. There’s even a men’s afternoon, which is great for the blokes! I’m very happy here, and the size of my unit – it’s so spacious.

I couldn’t have come to a better place. I was born in Ringwood, love Ringwood and when I found out a unit was available here at this community, I came and had a look and jumped at the opportunity. I have a very open plan unit and I love the openness. We have a great social life here - I made more friends here in the first year of living in this community, than I had in my 50 years at Mitcham in the family home.

It’s a lovely, warm and friendly environment at Waldreas and I just love it. I love the high ceilings in the units. I find the community is not too big and not too small. It’s great to have a committee organising the outings for everyone - I’ve just come from the annual Christmas dinner. I’m really enjoying life here!
